- 3D graphics library, by Reality Labs, called RenderMorphics, now part
of Microsoft Direct3D.
- Kaleida bought a source code license and was integrating it in with
ScriptX as an extension. When Kaleida was folded
back into Apple, that was one of the interesting
pieces of technology that Apple got out of the deal, that they did not have
before.
- Microsoft bought Reality Labs, and they
are integratec it into DirectX and Direct3D.
The VRML plug-in that Microsoft is currently shipping for their Explorer
web browser uses RenderMorphics.
- RenderMorphics is a really good software 3D renderer, that is faster
than OpenGL is in software, and is somewhat more
automatic (less immediate mode, more object oriented, and it figures out
what optimizations to do for you rather than you having to ask for the optimizations
explicitly).
