- OpenDoc is a component framework, that OS/2 and the next version of
MacOS will be based on.
- OpenDoc is based on IBM's SOM (System Object Model), which is a CORBA
compliant object framework.
- It is competing with Microsoft OLE.
But OLE has been in use for years, while OpenDoc isn't shipping yet.
- The coolest thing that's been done with OpenDoc is CyberDog,
a set of web browsing components.
