If there was only a way to keep the tty driver from flushing output
when you hit DEL...

HP264? terminals standout just DOESN'T WORK....

The generic terminal handler needs to be completely rewritten.  It's
a big CPU hog, and it's just plain ineffecient.  It DOES, however, WORK
(for the most part).

It'd be nice not to have to copy lines in the two screens in display.c.
