Welcome to ConnectedTV |
ConnectedTV is the revolutionary new way to pick TV shows and control your TV with a Palm Powered™ device. It turns a PDA into your personal TV guide and remote control. From the ConnectedTV Shows page you can browse all your channels using the Palm hardware buttons, see details by touching a show Title or Description, and tune any show by touching the red Touch Tuning button.
An angle in a Show Title's upper left corner means the show starts at or near the current Guide Time. You can see what's on at a later or earlier time by stroking the Guide Time button upward or downward, respectively. And other handy shortcuts are available at the stroke of a finger.
Your ConnectedTV listings are full of the stations and shows you want, because you decide what stations and show categories are in it, and in what order, at your ConnectedTV account on line.
This creates a personalized TV listing for you, up to two weeks long, that's updated every night. When you download these listings from our site and HotSync them into your Palm, you can see what shows are on right now and tune your show in a touch.
ConnectedTV even lets you pick Favorite shows and movies right at your Palm. They'll appear on your Favorites page whenever they're on. Setting up ConnectedTV the first time takes a few minutes setting up your account on our web site, and a few minutes training your Palm to behave like your remote controls. ConnectedTV Pages, Buttons, and Menu |
ConnectedTV is organized into
Pages containing Buttons. You move between pages by tapping or stroking
the Buttons with your fingers or a stylus.
When your Palm Powered device screen responds to a tap, you hear a click and see the button highlighted. The first time you visit a page after launching ConnectedTV, there may be a delay. Be patient after the click and highlight and don't continue pressing buttons. In subsequent visits the page will be drawn instantly, until you exit ConnectedTV. You can bring up ConnectedTV's pop-up menu by pressing the standard Palm silk-screen App Menu button at the lower left below the screen.
This lets you go to the most common pages by picking from the menu. You can also access pages using the large buttons on the Home page. Since users like to grab ConnectedTV like a remote control, we've made it hard to accidentally exit ConnectedTV. To exit to the App Launcher you may either:

ConnectedTV Homepage |
The base page from which you can reach any ConnectedTV page or exit the program is called the Home page. When using ConnectedTV, you can always reach this page by pressing the House icon silk-screened on your Palm Powered device, which ordinarily would take you to the Palm Application Launcher. The Home page also shows when your current TV listing file expires; "No guide" if the schedule file is missing; or "User mismatch" if the Palm User Name for the account doesn't match this PDA.
